University Prizes

Overview

The University offers a number of prizes, medals and awards in recognition of academic and non-academic achievement. Some prizes may take the form of book tokens, monetary stipends or payments.

Students have the opportunity to engage in extra-curricular activities which may contribute to the life of the University and the wider community as well as to their own personal and professional development.

All prizes which are gained by merit and can be verified may be included in a student's Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).

New Awards

The University has recently set up two contrasting but equally distinguished awards:

General Prize and Award Conditions

Verification

All prizes must first be approved and verified by the relevant University bodies (eg Athletic Union, Music Centre, etc.) before being awarded.

Unless otherwise stated, all prizes are awarded at the discretion of the University and without prejudice.

Value

The value of prizes which carry a monetary amount may depend on the amount available in an endowment and, therefore, cannot always be fixed year on year.

Prize and Award electronic allocation (staff only)

The University now allocates prizes and awards via the new Prize and Awards e-Vision tool.  Please contact the Curriculum Team for access and guidance.
