Well hello, it's me, Charlotte O'Harlot!

I love burlesque, both performing as a part of our group act The Shangrilettes (click on my pic for more info) and being part of the audience. To me, burlesque is performance art where wealth of different body types are embracing their beauty and power. A big part of burlesque is freedom of speech, emancipation and equality, all of which resonate loudly to me. Although some performances deal with delicate or difficult issues in human life or modern society, usually they are brought up comical and funny ways. And yes, there is stripping as well, and tassel twirling, pasties, glitter, beautiful costumes, headdresses and glamour, flamingos, drag, bubbling wine and so on... I snatched my identity from one of my favorite band's songs (Iron Maiden's Charlotte the Harlot) and mixed it with a touch of Scarlett O'Hara from the movie Gone with the Wind.

Handicrafts

I'm quite keen on knitting, crocheting and other crafting. I like to knit small stuff, like woollen socks or mittens, but I've done also some bigger projects, such as weaved rugs. I'm especially a fan of Fair isle knitting. Previously I've done a lot of jewelry like earrings and necklases. I like to use recycled materials and upcycling or "tuning" old stuff to give it a new life is my thing.

I also like gardening and growing my own food. Whether it's rhubarbs, lettuce or radishes, apples or picking blueberries at the summer cottage, I'm on it!
