I am a senior lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the University of St Andrews. I am a member of the Advisory Committees for both the Arché Philosophical Research Centre and the Centre for Ethics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs.
I'm also the Director of the St Andrews and Stirling Graduate Graduate Programme in Philosophy (SASP). If you have questions about SASP, please get in touch.
I work mostly in ethical theory, especially in metaethics and practical reasoning, with serious side interests in the philosophy of language and epistemology.
I completed my PhD at the University of Southern California in 2013. Before going to USC, I studied philosophy and mathematics at West Virginia University. And before that, I spent about eighteen years in my hometown, Lewisburg, WV, which is officially the Coolest Small Town in America.
That's a picture of me with my daughter.
