The first session of the day involves work in our teaching laboratories. We plan to have on offer the following experiments. Teachers are asked where possible to pre-book their students onto particular experiments. This allows our visitors to think about the experiment before arrival, and how this might assist them with their studies. Visitors will normally be working in pairs, and there is no reason why a pair should not be made up from pupils from different schools. Where teachers do pre-book experiments, please do this when they book places for the day. Please would they give us the names of the pupil for each experiment, and please would they tell the pupils concerned. These names will then appear on the booking sheets and those concerned will be able to confirm their arrangements when they see their names on the sheet. Places on experiments will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, and we are not able to host more than a certain number of pupils on one set of experiments. We will reply to the teacher about the experiments that have been able to be booked, and ask that they tell their pupils which experiments have been pre-booked for them. Those experiment places that have not been pre-booked will then be available for pupils without pre-booked experiments to choose on arrival.
