Two and multiple-beam interference
Interference (311KB)
This program compares two and six beams interference
using phasors. The idea is that this should be illustrating the origin of
the different interference patterns, and in particular
the reasons why multiple-beam interference gives so much sharper peaks than
two-beam interference. If you double click on the graph then all lines are
drawn double thickness. This gives the application increased visibility on a data
projector. This application was written by Dr Aly
Gillies at the University of St Andrews.
