Johan Tait, was the son of Henry Tait, who was ennobled in Sweden in 1658. Johan travelled with his brother Petrus [SSNE 157]. Both had studied at Åbo before coming to Uppsala. This may be the same Johan who in 1642 made a report to the college of mines about the paralysis 2 mineworkers suffered at a mine in Ojamo and requested financial support. He eventually became a master of mining in Finland. Their younger brother Eric [SSNE 460] followed their example and studied in both institutions in the late 1650'sAndersson et al, Uppsala Universitets Matrikel, (Uppsala, 1900-1911); T.
