Captain William Mudy was called to appear before the church authorities in Stockholm in 1620 for having made a Maria (whom he calls Amaria) Reis pregnant. He then signed the Stockholm town consistory records in Scots:
"I Williame Mudy beknois me to hav promesit befor all the kirke ministeris in the capitell to marei wt: my Mestress amaria reis wt: the first occatioune and tyme datum Stokholme the xx off juin 1620".
It is not known if he was related to his namesake [SSNE 3149], but the difference in ranks and dates suggests they are not the same man. That said, the rank and details of the pregnancy come from the index but without reference.
