Alexander Erskine was one of the original captains of Colonel Buccleuch’s [SSNE 5010] regiment in the Scots-Dutch Brigade. He took oath on 28 January 1604. He commanded 150 men with a salary of £1925, but in actuality this number may have been only 62 men. He was dead by 19 January 1606 and was succeeded by George Bothwell.
