Captain George Home was an officer in Buccleuch's [SSNE 5010] regiment of the Scots-Dutch Brigade. He was first a lieutenant in Captain Ralph Selby's [SSNE 8040] company and succeeded the captain on 23 July 1605. He command 150 men with a salary of £1925 but by 1608 the numbers had dropped to 126 men, £1645. Between 1609-1617 he commanded 70 men, £1059. This drop in numbers coincides with the Twelve Years' Truce (1609-1621) when most companies in the Scots-Dutch Brigade saw such a reduction. He married Anne de Pottere in Veere on 3 April 1612 and both became members of the Dutch Reformed Church in Arnemuiden in July 1612, where he was garrisoned. He was dead by 2 May 1623 when he was succeeded by James Murray.
