Text source

Robert Cotton was an Englishman, most likely from London. He married the daughter of English merchant and burgess of Trondheim, Joris Non (George Noone) in Molde sometime in the 1650s. It is unknown what purpose Cotton had to reside in Norway. It is likely he remained in Norway and possibly Molde for the remainder of his life as his daughter inherited £200 there from Cotton’s family in London in the 1680s.
