James Hay was a Scottish merchant in Stockholm in the first half of the seventeenth century. His wife was listed as one of the godparents at Thomas Rennare's [SSNE 7293] child's baptism at St Nikolai church in Stockholm in 1621. He is possibly the brother of Colonel Alexander Hay [SSNE 437] and Patrick Hay [SSNE 2631]. The brothers may have operated in the Hamburg area.
