MOLLISON, DAVID [SSNE 7239]
Text source
David Mollison lived in Elsinore in 1686. He had some relation to the network of Andrew Russell [SSNE 143] and is mentioned in a letter of Patrick Thomson to Russell in August as part of the postal network. Thomson discussed how the Hamburg postmaster often francked his letters to Mollison and Thomson did likewise under cover of the Danish post. The reason seems to have been to ensure swifter delivery to Russell in Rotterdam. Another letter from October reveals that Mollison had received some 80 rixdaler worth of postage from Thomson. Whether he was a postmaster or a merchant is not yet clearNational Archives of Scotland, Russell Papers, RH15/106/608. Patrick Thomson to Andrew Russell, 14 August and 23 October
