David Spence was a citizen of Bergen in Norway in the early seventeenth century. A charter by Thomas Spence, eldest surviving son of the late John Spence indweller at Kirkwall and brother of the late David Spence citizen of Bergen, in favour of John Spence his brother [Thomas's] of 2 1/2 merk udal land in Skaeton in Deirnes, and tenement land lying in the Laverock of Kirkwall notes this fact.
