On 29 March 1587, William Vane or Mane, burgess in Burrane (Bergen) in Norway made an obligation to Robert Haye, burgess of Kirkcaldy, which noted that Mr William Myln, burgess of Bergen, was principle and Andrew Hay in Merkinsche (Markinch) was cautioner for surety and principle debtor for him.
