David Scott was a settled member of the Scottish community in Stockholm towards the 1570s.

David Scott appeared to own property in Stockholm, although unfortunately the address is not clear. In March and April 1575 David Scott's farm (again address unspecified) was announced for sale three times.

David Scott appeared at the Stockholm court twice. In June 1575 David Scott again appeared before the Stockholm magistrates complaining about Colin Maxwell [SSNE 6660] and the 500 "klippinger" (money) that he, and his wife's mother, had invested in Maxwell's ship, "Gyllene Dufva". The matter was still unresolved by 29 October that year as George Sandilands[SSNE 6659] appeared before the magistrates on behalf of Colin Maxwell.

In December 1575 David Scott complained that one Jacob Patan (possibly James Paton, possibly also British?) had called his wife a whore. Paton claimed that he had been punched in the chest by David Scott's wife and so the words came out in the heat of the moment. He admitted that he only knew David Scott's wife to be a good and honest woman. The two men made their peace.
