Simon Bee was a captain in Danish-Norwegian service. In 1612, during the Danish-Norwegian war with Sweden, he was sent along with Captain Trenes [SSNE 6566] by King Christian IV to Ireland where it was hoped he would recruit 2 companies of Irish soldiers and return immediately to Norway. They were to travel free of tolls
