Jane Henderson was the sister of Colonel John Henderson [SSNE 53], sometime officer in the Swedish army, Stuart Ambassador and General in Denmark-Norway. She married Patrick Ruthven [SSNE 3413], an important officer in Sweden and later Earl of Forth and Brentford. Lady Jane was his second wife, and with her Ruthven had a daughter, also called Lady Jane [SSNE 6301] and a son called Alexander [SSNE 3402]. The younger Lady Jane was an influential courtier of Queen Kristina.
