Thomas Skotte leased jointly with a mayor and two councillors of the town the latter's gunpowder factory for 200 rixdollars yearly for the period 1635-8. Owned in the 1640's a wind-mill and a horsemill, the latter was taken by the army to be used as a guard-house. Furnished goods to the armed forces during the war 1643-5, reckoning was to be made 6/5/1646. Obtained export licence for oak timber 17/3/1646. Councillor by 6/5/1646, later mayor: had died by July 1653, leaving his widow Margrethe and their children Karen, Johan, Maria and Margrethe. Owned the estate Skottenborg outside Christiansstad. Owed money to David Fleck of Elsinore and had claims to Major Patrick Dunbar and to Wm "Stratun" of Scotland.
