Two men of the name of Alexander Home served in the Army of the Solemn League and Covenant in 1644, and both were veterans of the Thirty Years' War. One served as major in Baclarres Horse and the other as lieutenant colonel in Welden's Horse. It is impossible to say which is which, but this man was probably one of the two, the other most likely [SSNE 563]. Furgol, A Regimental History of the Covenanting Armies, 1639-1641 (Edinburgh, 1990), 114.
