Isabella Macklier was the first daughter of John Maclean, 1st baronet Duart [SSNE 1631]and his first wife Anna Gubbertz. She was born 22 December 1630 in Stockholm. Maclean's brother-in-law, James Makler/Maclean [SSNE 5432] adopted her in 1636 after his only daughter, Lunetta, had died in 1634. However, Isabella herself died shortly afterwards on 5 September 1639. Her funeral oration in the German church of Stockholm was held by a Scoto-Swedish pastor, Johan Jacob Pfieff, the grandson of the Scot, George Fyffe. This oration was later published, 'Clavis vitae et mortis, Das ist Lebens-und-todtes Schlussel' which is held in the library of Skokloster Castle.
