On 10 November 1703 Baron Axel Rosenkrantz received notice that the body of the Scottish skipper James Jamessen had been found drowned close to Rosendal. Jameieson was to be buried in the Kirk yard, but without the sounding of bells. His funeral costs were to be paid by the money that Jamieson had left behind in Norway with additional expenses being covered from elsewhere.R.
