Text sourceKirsten Gilles was the wife of William Willimsen Jeffes who originated in Newcastle, England. He moved to Bergen where he became a burgess skipper on 18 July 1687. It is not known if Kirsten met William in England or Bergen, or if she was English, Scottish or one of the foreign community living in Bergen. Their first child was born in 1683, Johanne Margarethe Jeffes(1683-1710). Johanne married twice, firstly to Frantz Mitzel (buried 13 March 1707) and then to Henrich Weinvig. With her first husband she had a daughter Wilmich Christina (born 1707) and with her second husband she had Karen Henrichsdatter (baptised 20 July 1710).
