David Anderson Christie was the son of Andrew Christie from Montrose who moved to Bergen in the 1650's and his second wife, Anna Henriksdatter Gyttrich. David was baptised on 17 June 1673 and died in 1719. He married Engel Haasewinckel and together they had two sons, Edvard and Jan Davidsen Christie.
