Text sourceAlexander Gordon came from Brusst in Scotland and moved to Bergen in Norway c.1630. He was made a burgess cooper on 16 February 1631. He married Elizabeth Vernton, possibly a daughter of Gilbert Wentoun, and with her had three children, Gilbert, Alexander and Lisbeth. Gilbert followed in his father's trade and became a burgess cooper of Bergen, admitted on 03/03/1687. He married Maren Knutsdatter and with her had two children, Elizabeth (1692-1758) and Rachel (d.1752) Gilbertsdatter Gordon.
