Jon Jacobsen Dischingthun was the son of James Anderson Dischingthun [SSNE 5200] who had been born in Holland district in Stronsay in the Orkney Islands. James had several children with his wife, Lutzia Jansdatter including Job, marthe, Wenche, Ahl, Wilmiche, Anders, Anna, Jacob, Elen, John and Lisbeth. Little is known of this mans life other than he was the tenth child, and therefore born c.1650. Some important events in the life of this family were recorded in the family bible.
