Anders Jacobsen Dischingthun was the son of Jacob Anderson Dischingthun who had been born in Holland district in Stronsay in the Orkney Islands. Jacob had several children namely Job, Anders, Jon, Anna, Ahl, Wenche, Jacob and Marthe. Going by the dates of birth of these children. These may not all have been with the same woman. According to the entries in the family bible, Job died on 22 November 1699 aged 64 years, 5 months and 20 days. That makes his date of birth 02/06/1635. Yet Anders, was born on 02/01/1635, and certainly to Jacob's wife, Lutzia Jansdatter, so if the dates on the bible are correct, then the two children could not have had the same mother. Anders wife, Karen Andersdotter, was born in November of 1635. There is some confusion here as both Job and Anders appear to have married this woman, unless they both married different women called Karen Andersdotter who both, coincidently, died in 1713. Anders marriage to Karen took place on 1 January 1664 according to an entry in the family bible.
