Ian Monro was a Scottish officer in the Danish-Norwegian army. He was a captain in Colonel Donald Mackay's [SSNE 93] regiment. He was in command of a company, billeted at Borsflet where Hausmann Hinrich Hannemann complained that it had 30 sentries who destroyed his fences. On 6 October 1628 Monro was given a passport for travelling with Sir Donald Mackay to Copenhagen, then England and finally back within five months.
