Jacob/James Clerck, was a goldsmith who died in Stockholm about 1615. His wife was Anna Eriksdotter (who married another goldsmith, Joakim von der fecht in 1617), whom he married in 1605. His son, Alexander [SSNE 788] followed his father's and step-father's craft and became a goldsmith, also in Stockholm where he could be found working throughout the reign of Queen Christina (1644-1654). Alexander married Cathrina and had at least one son, Jacob (born April 1667), who studied in Uppsala in 10/02/1683 and went on to become a lawyer. It is possible that Alexander also fathered Hans Clerck (1640-1679) who was also a goldsmith of Scottish origins who worked in Stockholm.
