Arthur Arbuthnot was an officer in Danish-Norwegian service. He was a lieutenant in Colonel Donald Mackay's [SSNE 93] regiment in 1628. He was wounded in action at Stralsund in 1628. He was probably related to both Andrew [SSNE 438] and Robert [SSNE 439]T. Riis, Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot (Odense, 1988), II, p.129 ; R. Monro, His Expedition with a worthy Scots Regiment called Mac-Keyes (London, 1637), I p. 68.
