Jons Smith was the son of Peter Smith [SSNE 4811], a Scottish soldier in Swedish service. Jons served as the castle secretary at Abo. Smith was ennobled in 1640 and introduced in 1642 after which he served as the vice governor of Abo from 1642-5. He died in 1645. Smith was married to Margareta Wirtenberg von Debern who was of Finnish nobiliy, and they had four children.
