Joens Netherwood was the son of William Netherwood [SSNE 1633] and Karin Lillesparre. Jons was born in 1628 in Forarp. He served as a private in the Smaland cavalry regiment. In 1645, when Joens was only 17 years old, he and his brother both signed Olof Lilliesparre af Fylleskog's autograph album. Joens Netherwood was naturalised and ennobled in 1649 but not introduced until 1672, when he took his brother Carl's [SSNE 4338] seat. In the interim he was involved in a criminal case in Jonkoping in 1655 where he was accused of murder. He was pardoned by the grace of the king.
