Magnus Lowrie was, according to some sources, a Scot related to John Lowrie, ennobled Lagergren. Magnus was a secretary to the Reduction Committee and was ennobled in 1691. According to Svenska Adelns Attartavlor, vol. 4, p.490, Lowrie was not a Scottish family.
