Andrew Monro was from Ross-shire and a cousin of the famous Colonel Robert Monro [SSNE 94]. Andrew was a Scottish officer in Danish-Norwegian service. He was a lieutenant in Colonel Donald Mackay's [SSNE 93] regiment by autumn 1628. However, he was killed in a duel in the German island of Fehmarn with a certain Rantzau in the winter of 1628-9.
