Mandrup Parsberg travelled to the Stuart court with Henrik Belov and Henrik Ramel and Nicolaus Theophilus to establish the legal status of the Northern Isles. Theophilus was apparently shown little hopitality in Scotland which meant that the Scots agents were to be treated accordingly on their missions to Denmark. They were in fact to sustain them selves. Theophilus was a Dr. and Prof. of Law at Copenhagen University. During 1596 and 1597 he was accredited as an agent to the Queen of England and had instructions issued in November 1597
