Frances Edmond was listed as an English knight who , after serving in the Imperial army, became a colonel in Danish service from 1657. He was a commandant at Nakskov in 1658, which he surrendered without resistance to the Swedes on 7/2/1658. He was to be indicted at a court martial but the case was not pursued. Instead he became reformed as lieutenant colonel in 1659. He was general quartermaster on the Fyn campaign the same year. He was active in the fortification of Frederiksodde in 1661. In 1662 the Danes furnished him with a recommendation as he tried to re-enter Imperial service.
