Andrew Meldrum is listed as having served in the Danish navy, but in 1676 was taken into the army as a captain in the Fyn national infantry regiment. He was captured at Lund in 1676, wounded in Malmo as a prisoner in 1677. He was a reformed captain in September 1677 and lodged with Col. Thomas Meldrum. In 1678 he was in Prince Frederik's regiment's Bahus campaign. He remained in that regiment until 1684.
