George Leslie served in the Narke Varmland's regiment between 1626-9. He began as an ensign but was promoted within a year. By 1628 he also acted as quartermaster for the regiment. In 1630 he was captain in his half-brother's regiment, Alexander Leslie [SSNE 1], and a lieutenant colonel by 1632. In December 1633 the town of Kitzingen (Under Franconia) complained about two companies of Scots of King's regiment, commanded by George Leslie. In 1637 he became colonel of an infantry regiment in Nyenburg and later became Governor of Vechta in Oldenburg around 1638. He died in September 1638. It is interesting that William Forbes recorded in his Memorial that George Leslie became a colonel already in 1625, but this must surely have been an error. This George Leslie is probably also the same as [SSNE 217] .
