Gavin Cleeland was an English officer in Swedish service. He was an ensign in Alexander Hamilton's [SSNE 380], later John Hamilton's [SSNE 2595]regiment in 1632. This regiment was taken over by Ludovick Leslie [SSNE 396] and served at the battle of Lutzen. He was probably related to Hugh Cleeland [SSNE 2048]Swedish Krigsarkiv, Muster Roll, 1632/30
