Robert Crichton was a Scottish officer in the Danish-Norwegian army from 1627-1629. He first served as a lieutenant in Nithsdale's [SSNE 531] regiment in 1627, but had been promoted captain by 1629. From December 1631 till August 1635 he was quartered with his companies in Frankfurt/M. There are indications that he went on to become a colonel and lieutenant-general in Imperial service, though scrutiny of the source concerned is required to confirm it is the same man.G. From the MDSZ database there is a mention of Colonel Chrichton. See Volkmar Happe Teil II, f. 439r [1641.12]. "Den 21. ist aber eine starcke Party Reuter vor hiesiger Stadt übergangen.
