John Anderson "Scotus Montross" served as a burgess and a councillor in Stubbekobing in Denmark in the 1650s and 60s. He was proposed on 23 October 1661 by the town to be appointed mayor which was confirmed by the king on 2 November 1661. John Anderson died on 29 November 1670. He married Margrete Jacobsdatter Williams, a daughter of James Williams. In 1670, the couple presented a chandelier to the church.T.
