John Skotte was listed as a cobbler (skoflikker) in Helsingör in 1657. That year he was assessed for tax in the 4th 'fjerding' 1657, noted as in royal service.

John Skotte had settled illegally in the 4th 'fjerding', and was fined on 27/2/1657 because he had not been admitted burgess.
