Andreas Mentz is possibly a Scot or of Scottish origin, the name Menzies often being truncated to Mentz in Scandinavia (ie. Captain Thomas Menzies aka Mentz in Norway in 1679-1680). Andreas is listed as a 'fyrvaerk' in Paterson's Skanske squadron in 1657-8.
