Diderik Mar was the son of mayor George Mar, Mayor of Elsinore. Diderik himself became a burgess there in 1606, a councilor 1611, one of the wardens of the hospital 1624-5, and mayor himself between 1623-5. He died on 11 September 1625. He married Anne Henriksdatter who died by 1611. His second wife, Dorte Lauritzdatter, was daughter of the bailiff, Lauritz Mikkelsen and consort Mette Clausdatter.
