Alexander Lyall was a son of Hans Lyall, canon of Roskilde and his consort Karine Dankersdatter. Alexander studied abroad (German universities 1592, Leiden 1594) and became a Magister (University of Copenhagen) on 8/5/1595. He was appointed headmaster of the grammar school of Elsinore in 1596 and 2nd chaplain at St Olai Church on 21/11/1597. He died on 13/1/1600.
