The University of St Andrews
Aesthetics Conference 2020

Event cancelled

This event has been cancelled.
The organisers hope to reschedule it later in the year.

Venue: John B. Henderson Lecture Hall, Edgecliffe

The University of St Andrews Aesthetics Conference 2020 is a collaborative event between the Anthropology, Art History, Classics, and Archaeology Societies; we are aiming to bring in a diverse group of scholars to stimulate dialogue over how people conceive of aesthetics and study aesthetics. That is, the conference itself is not setting out to solve a particular problem, rather it is seeking to provoke thought by highlighting areas of debate and different approaches within emerging and conventional fields.

Three panels will explore the themes of Aesthetics: Religion, Spirituality, and Magic as well as Aesthetics and Reception and Aesthetics and Text over the course of the one day conference. An undergraduate poster session will serve to highlight the research of young scholars in the field, and a lunchtime seminar will explore networking at academic conferences.
