Peter Craven's Class A amplifier

This page shows pictures of Peter's large 30-watt Class A transistor amplifier that he designed when at Oxford in 1971, together with a separate power supply; Richard Cowderoy carried out the construction. His demonstration of this amplifier when I visited him in 1975 encouraged me to build the Linsley-Hood Class A design (10 watts) which he himself had done in 1970/71.

Glimpses of its original construction in progress may be seen on Stephen Thornton's web pages of pictures about Michael Gerzon (Peter's friend and fellow-inventor):

The pictures on this page were taken at Peter's home in Staines, August 2008.
