It is interesting
to note that many of the Nobodaddy family have made an impact
on the World in some way or another. Some of us had less
'glamourous' occupations than others, but we rarely, if ever, harmed anyone,
we were productive and we don't breathe valuable oxygen wastefully (or in some cases, any more).
Neil Grant
Neil is a one of the professional audio industry's most respected innovators. Neil now has a new website, Neil Grant.com
Neil's original company, Harris Grant Associates was formed in 1983, which is still recognised as a world-leading design centre.
Gordon (Gungi) Paterson
Gungi Paterson was a renowned production manager and sound engineer. Gungi worked with almost all of the great rock acts - from The Who, Deep Purple and Whitesnake to Steve Vai and Spinal Tap (according to Gungi the highlight of his career!).
Sadly, Gungi was diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes in his neck in August 2006. fter being given a negative prognosos by his doctors he chose to use alternative therapies in order to try to beat the cancer.
This treatment extended his time of this planet by three years, during which he was healthy and fit, which was a lot better than the few weeks he was offered by his HMOs!
We all miss Gungi, and our thoughts and love go out to his wife Bridget and his sons Wolgang and Baron.
You can read more about Gungi's fight, and his many tributes at: Friends of Gungi
Keith Morris
After working with The Who, and later doing production management or Duran Duran, Keith created his own production company in London, and established a formidable reputation in the music industry.
p>Among his many entrepreneurial ventures Keith was involved in the management of the Isle of Wight and Rewind festivals as well as managing many corporate and outdoor classical music events.
Keith died suddenly at home in 2024, which was a great shock for his family, friends and colleagues all over the World. Another enormous talent and friend gone too early.
Allan Brereton and Cameron Crosby
Allan and Cameron Crosby formed a very successful
company in Scotland, The
Warehouse, which supplies expertise, personnel and equipment
for the music and theatre industries.
When the two partners sold the Warehouse, they both retired and are enjoying quieter lives in the countryside.
Roddy MacDonald
Sometime after leaving the band Roddy moved to London, taught himself to play the guitar properly (his words) and helped found the internationally recognised recording studio Swan Yard. Roddy subsequently set up Innovation Studios in Islington, London.
Roddy also succumbed to cancer a number of years ago, and another valued friend and ex-member of the band was lost to us.
Neil Paterson
Dr Neil Paterson spent many years studying at various scholarly institutions amassing a fearsome array of academic qualifications. He latterly spent his time as a Botanist and science educator at Dundee University, being a part-time chartered accountant, as well as being a father to his daughter Amy.
Neil also played guitar, bass, saxophone, piano and keyboards (and goodness knows what else) in blues, jazz and folk bands in his later life
... and all the while absorbing more and more knowledge.
Sadly, Neil was yet another band member to succumb to cancer. He was a brilliant musician, and quite probably the most intelligent person I have ever met. He is sorely missed.
Keith Nicol
Keith worked for the University of Edinburgh in computer support. Keith retired a few years ago and he now spends his much of his time singing in a couple of choirs in Edinburgh. He is mostly involved in the Rolling Hills Chorus in his home city of Edinburgh
Graham Halley
Graham, like Keith, worked in computer support, but at the University of St Andrews. He still plays the guitar but this is becoming more difficult due to a quirk of his partial deafness, no doubt caused by being in the band!
He compensates for this affliction by spending far too much money on ridiculously expensive hi-fi in a vain attempt to magically recover from his hearing loss!
Alan Turner
Alan had his own, well established cab business in his local area, and with his wife Sheena he enjoyed being a father to his son Craig and his daughter Nadine. He also very much enjoyed being a grandfather to Nadine's children.
Again, and equally sadly, Alan died of cancer a few years ago. It goes without saying that he too is missed by all his friends.
