Guided Walks

     There are two programmes of guided walks available in the Garden. There is no additional charge for either, beyond the normal Garden admission fee.
Garden Walks with a Focus
     These are part of the Adult Education Programme and are open to all. They are held on the first Thursday of the month at 2 pm and as the name suggests, focus on a particular topic or theme.
Guided Walks
     St Andrews Botanic Garden is a beautiful and inspirational 18 acre haven for the rare and unusual in the heart of historic St Andrews dating back to 1889.  Come and visit (or revisit) to enjoy our stunning landscape of rock and scree gardens, ponds, woodland gardens and herbaceous borders.   (And that's not to mention our historic herb garden, our vegetable plot and our orchard.)  Indoors our extensive glasshouses show off a huge range of habitats: desert, alpine, temperate and exotics.  Our knowledgeable volunteer garden guides are passionate about sharing the garden's pleasures with visitors and will be delighted to share its stories and its best bits with you. Throughout the year guided walks can be booked in advance by contacting 01334 476452 or by emailing We will create bespoke walks tailored to the special interests or needs of each group.  There is no charge, apart from garden entry.
