Gillian has been with CSTPV since 1992 and is the CSTPV Administrative Manager and Convener of the MLitt in Terrorism and Political Violence.

Prior to coming to St Andrews, Gillian was Project Administrator for a DFID sponsored project at Dundee University and also assisted in the formation of the Belfast City Council Economic Development Strategy 1992 - 1995.

Gillian studied at St Andrews University, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Administrative Management and a Member the Association of University Administrators. Gillian’s other roles include Editor of the online Journal of Terrorism Research and the North East Scotland Lead Advocate for the Association of University Administrators (AUA)

In April 2014 Gillian was awarded the first ever Association of University Administrators (AUA) Administrator Award. As well as recognising Gillian’s commitment to the AUA, it also recognises the wider overall improvement of higher education administration. Most recently, Gillian has been awarded the Association of University Administrators (AUA) Network Award. The purpose of this award is ‘to celebrate a network whose activities and engagement has had a positive impact on its members and on the AUA as a whole’.
