The Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence is delighted to invite submissions for a two-day conference in March 2018 to explore and discuss contemporary issues in terrorism studies. This graduate conference seeks to facilitate dialogue between research students from a variety of disciplines whose work focuses on aspects of terrorism and political violence. All abstracts (limited to 500 words) on the broad theme of ‘Contemporary Issues in Terrorism Studies’ will be considered. We particularly welcome submissions on such topics as:


Rise of Far-Right Terrorism, Populism, and Nativism in the West
Responses to Far-Right Terrorism
Digitisation, Social Media, and Radicalisation – New Methods in a New Era
Protest, Resistance, Borders, and Political Violence
Gendered Terrorism and Political Violence
The Role of Religion in Terrorism and Political Violence


PhD candidates and early career researchers are invited to send abstracts of no more than 500 words to cstpvgc@st-andrews.ac.uk by 17th November 2017. Please include name, email, current position, and institutional affiliation.
